You already know! We are continuing our 30 Days of Gratitude! If you missed the scoop about why we’re celebrating, be sure to check out Episode One. Yesterday, we talked about how to be grateful even when you’re in lack. Today, we’re going to be discussing Day Five’s Topic: Why am I Even Here?
In my book, I tell the story of how King David declared that God would fulfill his purpose for him despite the situations he was facing at that particular time. In life, things can happen to us that cause us to question our purpose. As a matter of fact, I can recall a time when so much was happening to me that I honestly thought I was on some “Final Destination” type stuff. I thought that maybe I was never supposed to be born, and life just kept trying to take me out because I was never supposed to be here. It’s amazing the things your mind will tell you when you allow it to be in control. It’s easy to forget your purpose in the heat of the moment. It’s easy to get so caught up in what life is throwing at you that you don’t even take the time to discover what your purpose is. However, regardless of the reason behind the question, there are three things to be grateful for even when you don’t understand why you’re here. Ready? Let’s go.
Number One: Be grateful that God knows your purpose even when you don’t. There has never been a single thing that has manifested in the earth realm that didn’t have a purpose. Not only does God have a purpose for you, but God has a purpose for everything about you, including your flaws. There’s a purpose for the family you were born into, the things you went through in your childhood, the friends you have, the enemies you have – nothing in this world happens by chance. Everything has a purpose. EveryONE has a purpose.
Number Two: Be grateful that you don’t have to have it all figured out. Honestly speaking, I AM JUST NOW walking into the BEGINNING PHASE of what I’m really here to do – and I’m thirty-three years old. Now it may not take you that long. It may take you longer. Who knows? I’ll tell you who. God. God knows. And as long as God knows, you don’t have to have it all figured out. The only thing you’re responsible for is being accountable for doing what you know to do, and not doing what you know not to do… which leads us to…
Number Three: Be grateful that God will reveal. God will reveal your purpose. It may be that God just speaks to you and tells you… but more often than not, your purpose is discovered as you live your life. I discovered my purpose when I started talking to people who were suicidal. I discovered my purpose when I started to stand in my truth. In Episode Seven, I’m gonna tell you about how losing almost every friend I had showed me my purpose. Just know that God will reveal it to you. Just ask. Just live. Just do what you know to do. God will reveal.
And on that note, I’m going to let you get on with your day. There’s a song by Casey J. called “Journal” – When I’m unclear or feeling like I’m lost in the sea of life’s difficulties, I grab this song and meditate on it. If you go to the podcast notes on my website, you’ll see the video. This song has helped me tremendously… because it reminds me of how to tap into the KNOWING that God has great things for me to do here. Check it out!
Have an AMAZING day and be GREAT! I speak life over you and everyone and everything connected to you! Catch me tomorrow!
